Amo ergo sum

Amo ergo sum—I love therefore I am, an apt title for a third collection, for a self-proclaimed social rebellion. 

The playlist, set to the tone of a cigarette break, sees the poet persona, someone who, in fact, doesn’t smoke, taking cigarette breaks. During these cigarette breaks, through the silky and often introspective melodies of elite artistes, the poet persona ponders life choices, moving between love, grief, regret, freedom, and fear.

On the last track, the poet persona, through J Hus’s punchy "Deeper Than Rap," goes beyond the surface level in search of a way forward, while ruminating on themes of identity crisis, self-image, and race.
